Projects
Throughout both my academic and personal work, I engage in a variety of multimodal projects. Usually, these projects focus on tech justice, accessible information and data, and new ways to promote digital literacy and engagement. Below are some examples.

Techno-Feminist AI Syllabus
Helping to bridge the divide that separates the “experts” from the “interested”, this interactive syllabus was designed to introduce audiences to science and technology studies. Written with a feminist and social justice lens in mind, this syllabus aims to challenge the idea of data as “neutral” and instead emphasizes its subjectivity, and encourages readers to critically analyze the tech in their lives.

Data, Design & Justice
Created to be alike to the choose-your-own-adventure books of childhood, this project aims to encourage an understanding of what “goes into” the design process. Players are encouraged to read through the modules in order to gain a concrete understanding of how bias plays a role in traditional systems design procedures, and explore alternatives.

An Intro to Technofeminism: How to use (& Critique) Tech for Social Good
This presentation aims to give those who are new to social critique of technology and algorithms a baseline understanding of what it means to critique technology from a feminist perspective. Originally created as part of QPIRG-McGill’s Spring into Action program, these slides are now publicly available. To request a workshop or to use these slides, send me an email!

Locating AI
Funded by the McGill Arts Research Internship Award, this project explored how Montreal was portrayed as an “AI Hub”, understanding that the stories we tell play an important role into the ways our cities are shaped.

Montreal Lesbian and Queer Women’s Oral History Project
As a research assistant on this project, I worked to interview notable queer people in Montreal, creating an oral account of Montreal’s queer and lesbian history from 1970 to present. These interviews and transcriptions are currently house at the Archives Gaies du Quebec and the Archives Lesbiennes du Quebec, where they can be accessed for future work.

Feminist Tech Resources
A series of introductory resources on feminist approaches to tech critique. While not all encompassing, these resources can help you get started.
